Why the colors change

Each season keeps the color of its direction.

오방색, the five Korean colors, pair with the five elements, and the elements with the seasons: wood and spring with 청, fire and summer with 적, metal and autumn with 백, water and winter with 흑. The fifth, 황, belongs to the center and to the turns between seasons.
